Kbal Chhay waterfalls

Photo taken by Johnny Walker
himself last time he visited the falls
Within easy reach of Johnnie Walker's is a beautiful waterfall with a slightly unfortunate past.  Until 1963 it was the primary source of fresh water for the city of Sihanoukville but that all changed when the Khmer Rouge took it over and started using it as a hideout.  Snooky had to find another source of water (we still keep extra beer supplies just incase something like this ever happens again) and the site was out of action.

In 1998 it was taken over and redeveloped and it is now a wonderful place to spend the day.  Get out of the heat in the cool water and take a stroll around Kbal Chhay and you are taking a stroll around one of the many destinations in Cambodia that is being rebuilt along with the country.  We can arrange private trips out to the falls for next to nix and, what's more, it's only 7 kms out of town so it is a comfortable and easy half day trip by tuk tuk.
